Location: Cemetery Road Baptist Church 

Brief: To produce a masterplan that provides first-class, safe, accessible, sustainable and welcoming spaces, sensitively managed to support the church’s worship and ministry in the local community.

 

Proposal:  to create a community music centre, taking inspiration from the musical aspects of religious worship and community spirit. Recording studios, Soundproof practice spaces and stage areas will encourage musical talent from the local area. Taking direct inspiration, I plan to repurpose and add to the organ pipes, to create an exterior canopy that will whistle when the wind blows through. Also to add a new front entrance inspired by the composition of the organs pipes.
